Must try! Best steak in a very long time! Blackened Ribeye w/ Bleu Cheese, wonderful Spicy & Sweet Chicken soup. Beautiful local ambience for Mississippi Gulf Coast with a great setting under the Live Oaks overlooking Ft. Bayou, in Ocean Springs. I'm especially pleased to see such a place recover after Hurricane Katrina, and this was a much preferred dining experience compared to the All-You-Can-Eat cattle-trough Casino Buffets all along the coast! Locals might be anticipating the reopening of the White Pillars Restaurant (closed for near 30 years) in Biloxi... and Mary Mahoney's might have a lot of pomp & presentation to it... but Anthony's is here... now.

We had another wonderful meal and Anthony's on Friday night. The Veal Oscar and the Red Snapper special went well with a nice, inexpensive Sauvignon Blanc. The meal was well complimented by the lovely sunset - we recommend getting there before dark and getting a window table.

Steak was great. The decor, however could use a major upgrade, especially in a place where my bill is $100. They aren't getting a 4 or 5 from me though cuz just as we were about to go i spotted a crispy fried bug on a french fry on our plate!

Unless you like food from 1974, don't dine here. I am baffled that the owner of this restaurant does not realize what he has. According to the hotel employee in Biloxi this joint has been here forever. He has to be sitting on a ton of equity. Is he just banking off of those one time tables? It's located in a intriguing lot with tons of character and huge trees one that overlaps the walk way and the restauant is widley opened surrounded by glass windows. When you walk in they have a sit down bar hidden by a divider. Question mark..."one shakes head" the tables are rod iron ( painted 1970's white) with green plastic table cloths. Felt like I was in a restaurant scene from caddy shack! So back to the huge interesting trees outside and open windows. No spot lights on them! Hello even the greenkeeper Carl Spackler knows Ambiance. like I said they just need to re-vamp everything. and update the menu about 40 years. The food was awful, I was shocked. The price value was not accommadatig at all. I had children with me and the childrens menu said 6 and under. A Big LOL I ordered them anywho we pre-planned if the server says something we are dropping this joint like 3rd period French. I don't think she even knew they had an age limit So then being a first timer I asked the server what's the scoop, questions like how long has this been open. I wanted a story, something, anything. She replied uhmm yeah I really don't know I can go find out.....She never came back with an answer. We left really P.O. Oh well I guess the bad makes you appreciate the good. Don't be fooled.

Dinner with a party of 11 on Saturday night @ 6:30. Everyone had a fine meal, with wonderful service and reasonable prices. Sorry it was too dark to enjoy the view, which appeared to be lovely.

Great steaks! Great view of inner Biloxi Bay. I was surprised how empty it was around 6pm when we stopped in for dinner. We were the only patrons. They had a steak special: ribeye topped with a whiskey butter sauce. Ordered medium rare. So juicy, so tender. It came with a very cheesy twice baked potato and squash casserole. The casserole paired perfectly with the ribeye. Say what you will about the retro white patio chairs, this place knows how to grill a steak.

Fantastic gumbo--chock full of shrimp and flavor--Not too much heat but enough to keep you interested.
